Why can't we see pedestrians at night?

Flock captures actionable evidence — a license plate

During the day Flock cameras act just as traditional security cameras would. We're able to capture pedestrians, dogs, bicycles, and license plates.

At night, our cameras use infrared technology to ensure we capture the key piece of information needed, the license plate.

Police and law enforcement agencies aren’t using facial recognition today to solve property and nonviolent crimes, so while being able to capture that information may seem useful, there really isn't anything police can do with that footage.

87% of nonviolent crimes go unsolved due to a lack of actionable evidence. For now, ensuring you have the license plate as actionable evidence will be the best way to solve the case in the event of a crime.
