What started as a bold idea to make communities safer has grown into a movement. Along the way, we’ve built breakthrough technology, expanded nationwide and helped thousands of communities solve crime and thrive in entirely new ways.

2017
Flock, founded by Garrett Langley, Matt Feury & Paige Todd, joins YC S17, solves its first crime & launches to improve neighborhood safety.
2018
We hit 1M plates processed daily and debut branded boxes making us feel like a real, grown-up company.
2019
We grow our customer base, hit 10M images in a day, and launch our V2 LPR, delivering sharper performance to the communities we serve.
2020
We expand with law enforcement partners, help solve our first AMBER Alert, and grow the team to 150 employees across the country.
2021
We launch gunshot detection, achieve a $1B valuation, grow to 300+ employees, and expand into the private sector.
2022
We hit a $3.5B valuation, grow to 600+ employees and launch Flock OS, our integrated safety platform.
2023
Now valued at $4.8B, we help solve 7% of U.S. crime, and launch new products like video and a mobile app.
2024
Now solving 10% of U.S. crime - from reuniting 400+ missing people to launching tools like OS 911, Mobile Trailers, NightVision, and Solar Video—we’ve grown to 1,100+ employees nationwide.
2025
We’ve come a long way—but this is just the beginning. There’s so much more to build, and we’re just getting started.
