The theme of Flock Safety’s product launch is “speed:” faster leads, eyes on the scene, and connecting the dots you didn’t know were there.
Flock Safety’s latest product launch is all about one thing: speed. Speed to leads. Speed to context. Speed to resolution. For law enforcement agencies striving to do more with less, the updates unveiled at Flock’s Q2 2025 Product Launch offer powerful new tools to help law enforcement move faster and smarter, without sacrificing clarity or cost-efficiency.
“The faster you understand what’s happening in real time, the faster you can act,” said Flock Safety’s Chief Communications Officer, Josh Thomas.
Here are the biggest takeaways law enforcement professionals need to know:
LPR Cameras Can Become Video Cameras
In a move that will transform the largest network of LPR cameras in the nation, Flock announced that every existing Flock LPR camera can soon become video-enabled at no cost to the customer.
“Flock customers don’t have to do a thing or pay a thing,” said Flock Safety’s Chief Strategy Officer, Bailey Quintrell. “This will be a no-cost software update we push over the cloud.”
This optional software upgrade gives agencies immediate visual context to accompany their LPR reads. For example, if five vehicles match a description near a crime scene, the added video helps narrow that list to the one vehicle fleeing the scene. Agencies don’t need to purchase new hardware.
Bundled Video + LPR Cameras: Now More Affordable
Agencies wanting wider video coverage can now bundle a solar-powered video camera with an existing LPR install for just $500 more per year, plus installation. Unlike the video-enabled LPR upgrade, this setup gives you two separate streams and more flexibility, which is ideal for capturing wider views or specific angles like intersections and parking lots. It’s a budget-friendly way to dramatically boost situational awareness.
Dual-Lens PTZ Camera: Detail + Context in One
Flock’s new solar-powered, LTE-connected PTZ camera brings a dual-lens approach, providing both a zoomed-in feed and a wide-angle view simultaneously. That means officers get detailed visibility and full-scene context without sacrificing either.
“With our Dual Lens PTZ, you never have to choose,” said Quintrell. “You get both views from the same camera.”
Even better, these cameras are deployable without AC or ethernet, making them ideal for trails, parks, and remote areas. They’re available for pre-order and will begin shipping next quarter.
FreeForm AI Search Now Works Across Shared Cameras and Video
FreeForm, Flock’s AI-powered search tool, now works not only on owned LPR cameras but also on shared ones. It also supports video searches—meaning you can now search for characteristics on people* (e.g., “man in blue hoodie with backpack”) just like you would search for vehicles. You can even set alerts on these searches: think “green ATV on a trailer” or “person in orange vest,” so you’re notified in real time when there’s a match.
“FreeForm uses the power of AI, so you can search like people talk,” said Principal Product Manager Martin Howley.
Plus, FreeForm is now compatible with third-party video feeds (e.g., Genetec, Milestone), so agencies can leverage its power without needing to switch platforms.
*Note: people characteristics cannot be searched on LPR feeds, only video feeds.
Nova: Connecting the Dots Across Data Systems
Flock’s data platform, Nova, brings together CAD, RMS, jail, LPR, OSINT, and more into a single, searchable interface.
“Nova is your virtual assistant who knows where everything is, how it all fits together, and who else might be working a similar case,” said Howley.
Whether it's surfacing an address from a food delivery order (Gary, IN PD) or linking a VOIP number to a suspect’s Cash App profile and photo (Fort Worth PD), Nova helps patrol, analysts, investigators, and command staff move faster with context.
Built for Speed, Safety, and Smarter Policing
Whether it’s faster suspect identification via drone, more eyes on the street via low-cost video, or smarter investigations powered by AI, Flock’s latest updates were built with law enforcement’s evolving needs in mind. As resources tighten and expectations grow, these tools are designed to help agencies solve more crimes, faster—while keeping officers and communities safer.
“That’s exactly the kind of impact we want to make — giving agencies tools that protect people and solve cases,” said Thomas.
Speed is the theme. Results are the goal.
