Flock Safety and Ring Partner to Help Neighborhoods Work Together for Safer Communities
Flock Safety and Ring are connecting communities and public safety securely, transparently, and on your terms.
Two leaders in community safety, Flock Safety and Ring, are joining forces to make it easier than ever for neighborhoods to work together to protect their homes and families.
Through a new partnership, Ring’s Community Requests feature will now connect with Flock Safety’s technology platforms, FlockOS™ and Flock Nova™, allowing neighbors to securely and privately share helpful video footage with local public safety agencies during an active investigation — only if they choose to.
A Simpler, More Secure Way to Help Solve Crime in Your Community
When local public safety officers are investigating an active case, local officers using Flock Safety’s technology can now post a request directly in the Ring Neighbors app asking for help. These posts must include the location, timeframe, and details about what happened, including a case number.
If you’re a Ring customer and see this request, you’ll have a clear choice: share your footage or ignore. It’s entirely up to you. If you decide to share, Flock’s system securely delivers your video directly to the public safety agency handling the case. No one goes door-to-door, and your personal information stays private.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Ring to make the process of requesting more information from the community faster, more efficient, and fully auditable, all while respecting individual privacy,” said Garrett Langley, CEO and Founder of Flock Safety.
“With Community Requests, community members and public safety agencies can increase transparency with simple, secure ways of looking out for one another.”
Designed for Privacy and Transparency
Every part of the Community Requests feature honors accountability and trust. Flock Safety’s software automatically records every action that law enforcement takes in a CJIS-compliant audit trail. Every Community Request appears publicly in the Ring Neighbors app, so you’ll always know when and where requests are made in your area.
This new integration makes it easier for neighbors to support one another while keeping control of their own information, and it helps officers save valuable time that would otherwise be spent knocking on doors.
Strengthening the Network of Safer Communities
Flock Safety’s mission has always been to help communities thrive by making them safer, together. Flock partners with more than 6,000 communities, 5,000 law enforcement agencies, and 1,000 businesses nationwide to deliver real-time information that helps solve and prevent crime, all while maintaining the highest standards of privacy, data security, and transparency.
By connecting Ring’s popular home security tools and Neighbors app with Flock Safety’s community safety network, this partnership creates a stronger bridge between residents and public safety agencies built on trust, choice, and collaboration.
“Ring’s mission of making neighborhoods safer is rooted in the power of community collaboration,” said Jamie Siminoff, Founder and Chief Inventor of Ring.
“This integration with Flock Safety empowers even more communities who want to help.”
A New Way to Look Out for Each Other
The expanded Community Requests feature will roll out to Flock Safety’s platforms in the coming months. Together, Flock Safety and Ring are making it easier for neighborhoods to work hand in hand with local public safety officials, using technology that respects privacy, promotes transparency, and strengthens the bonds that make communities thrive.
