Allentown, Pennsylvania is Partnering With Flock to Shape a Safer Community

Allentown, the third-largest city in Pennsylvania, is home to over 120,000 residents.

In a recent press conference, Mayor Matt Tuerk and Chief of Police Charles Roca shared details on their initiative to shape a safer community through the use of advanced technology.

With grant funding awarded by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Allentown has installed 67 Flock Safety Falcon® LPR Cameras and is in the process of deploying Flock Safety Raven® audio detection devices that will cover 1 square mile of the city.

As gunshots tend to be underreported across the country, such is the case in Allentown. The deployment of Flock Safety Raven® audio detection devices will allow Allentown Police Department to locate and respond to gun-related crimes almost immediately. With alerts in less than 60-seconds, Flock Safety Raven® audio detection will allow Allentown PD to quickly dispatch officers to locate victims, secure the scene, and preserve critical evidence.

In addition to the vital role that gunshot detection will play in keeping the community safe, Flock Safety Falcon® LPR cameras have been deployed to provide enhanced situational awareness and real-time alerts for officers in the field, already helping to solve a crime involving a stolen vehicle in the area.

Flock Safety is proud to be a part of Allentown’s mission to “create a safer, clean, and healthy environment that supports the wellbeing and success of…residents and businesses,” aligning with our own mission to shape a safer future, together.
