This week, the Albany Police Department (APD) announced their plans to install up to 120 Flock Safety Falcon® LPR cameras throughout the city to help tackle rising violent crime in the area.

The initiative, funded by the Albany City Commission, complements the successful gunshot detection system launched earlier in the year in partnership with Flock.

“Openly and honestly, recruitment and retention is hurting us across the board. Well, what other things can we do? And this is why one of the things we turn to is technology,” Albany Police Chief Michael Persley said.
