The Case

A 22-year-old man from Cottage Hill, Illinois, has been charged with first-degree arson after allegedly setting fire to a toilet paper dispenser in the men's restroom of a Walgreens pharmacy. 

On the night of February 26, 2025, the suspect visited the Walgreens pharmacy and entered the bathroom. After the suspect left, an employee noticed heavy smoke and water emanating from the restroom. 

Once local law enforcement investigated the scene, they discovered a melted dispenser in one of the bathroom stalls and substantial smoke and water damage to the walls and ceiling.
