5 Questions with Mary H. | Software Engineer III, ML Tooling

With a growing team of 850+ dedicated employees, our "Meet the Flock" series spotlights the many faces, departments and specialties of Flock Safety. We’re excited to share the stories of our exceptional employees, each contributing their unique talents and perspectives to our shared mission of eliminating crime and shaping safer communities.

This week, we're excited to introduce Mary, a software engineer on our product team.

1. Describe what you do in 5 words or less.

Full stack web development

2. What is your favorite part of your job?

The small user base of our tooling application leads to really rewarding outcomes. All bug fixes, new features, or improvements have a visible impact almost immediately; I can push out a new feature and see the team or annotators benefit from it that same day. It's very motivating and keeps my drive constantly grinding.

3. What’s your favorite hobby?

Quilting. After being in front of a computer all day, it is very therapeutic and the perfect artistic outlet.

4. What’s something you are currently (or just finished) listening to, watching, or reading right now?

Just finished Downton Abbey and loved it.

5. What’s the best life or professional advice you’ve been given?

Don't be afraid of breaking stuff - Alexander Hagerman
